I am not from N.Z. but my mum was born there. I am trying to find a group of mums for my sister that is living in Scottsdale A.Z. She has a girl 4yr. and a boy 2yr. she has just recently moved there and would like to get to know some local new zealanders in her area. she belonged to a group while living in L.A. and loved it. I also would like to get involved with a group out here in SLC utah. i have a girl 1yr. I would love t here back from any one who might be able to help us out with this. |

Hi Helen,
I'm so glad you joined, anyone with a Kiwi connection is most welcome. I hope you can find some contacts for your sister. I'm not aware of anyone in that area, but maybe someone will come along.
Have you tried Kiwis In America? They have a lot of members all over the country and you might be able to connect with other mums through them:

Good luck!

Hi Helen, I recommend looking in the local paper, or search the internet for NZ/Aussie/Scottsdale/Pheonix and see what pops up. These are the methods I have found fellow NZers. I also would recommend the internet to search for "Meetup" groups in SLC, also other key words like moms group, stay at home moms, mommies and babies (you get the idea). I've lived in many different states and always seem to find some NZers but the fact that you are not New Zealander's yourselves (presumably with American accents) you both may not find out about stuff from that typical "you sound like someone I know" route of introduction. Good luck. |
