4 year old son with dominating personality
My 4 year old son "Big" has a very doninating personality at playgrounds etc...He is not a bully, rather he is the leader of the pack. He does not like to share & there are certain boys he will not play with. What are some ways of handeling this type of personality???

Let him be.... that is the way he is... if others dont like too bad!
No need to apoligize to other mothers at the playground either.
This behavior might annoy you now but it will serve him well later in life

He has the perfect name! My son is much younger, but he is big for his age and is very dominating. Its funny to watch him play with boys much older. He actually scares them sometimes and they back away not knowing what to do. I agree with the other mom. His leadership skills should be admired and not disciplined or you will threaten a great leader. There are a lot of great books out there on teaching boys that will help when he gets into classes since most classes are geared toward quiet, stay-in-your seat study. Watch for teachers that want to drug your kid up to suppress his energy. He was just born to be a leader and you gave him the right name for it! Now learn how to help him succeed.
