Weaning baby to whole milk
Hi I need some advice, those of you who have kids who have moved on to whole milk, my question goes to you. How did you get your baby to start drinking whole milk? My daughter is on formula and using the bottle. Any ideas?

I think they recommend mixing the whole milk with the formula. Starting out with more formula and a little bit of whole. Then slowly upping the amount of whole milk until you aren't using any formula.

I just put the whole milk in the bottle for my daughter and she didn't hesitate. She drank the milk down the same way she drank the formula. I just used the same exact bottles that I used for her formula.

I switched gradually in the bottle first and then transitioned to the sippy cup after. I had him on the milk around 11.5 months and totally on the sippy by 12.5 months. He is a good eater, so he didn't hesitate when I switched him on the cup.

As for the milk, as the other poster said, change the amount of formula vs. milk by 1 oz per day to see how she tolerates it. I am not sure what type of formula you are on, but if it is a soy-based or a pre-digested milk protein based, you may want to switch more slowly to see if there are any problems. My son was on the pre-digested based type (Nestle) and he had some mild constipation, but a little prune juice cured that. Good luck and it is sooooo much easier!!!!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ADVICE! I will ease her into the whole milk. I did try giving her half and half but she got constipated. Thanks again
