My Introduction
Hello, all...I just wanted to give a quick intro...

I am Marciava, (pronounced Marcy-Ava), I live in Fayetteville, NC.

A little about me... I am 30...I was a substitute teacher in the public schools for 6 years, subbing for mostly middle and high school. I was a 3rd grade assistant teacher in the public school for 3 years, and I was a 3rd grade teacher at a private school for a year.

I have a business degree, an elementary education degree,a history degree, and I am working on my masters in nursing, now. My long term goal is to open my own medical center with my Nurse Practioner degree in a few years when I finish. I work fulltime from home as a Tastefully Simple Team Leader which allows me to spend more time with my husband and daughters.

I have two daughters, one going to the 4th grade and one going to the 5th grade. My husband and I have honestly had it with the public schools here. I was born and raised here in Fayetteville, and I have watched the schools deteriorate over the years. Many times it is not the teachers fault, but they are pressured, over worked, and lack parental support in many areas.

So with that being said, we have decided to home school our children beginning this fall. Forunately for us, I already had tons of school, and teacher related products, books, reproducibles, etc from being a teacher. So starting out won't be too hard for us, my biggest concern was that the girls would lack socially. Which is why I have joined a few homeschooling groups. I want to try to network with other home schools, to see what activities they have, field trips etc. We are definitely in this for the long haul, not just a year or so. Our eventual plan is to open a private school here in town, to give other parents an affordable alternative to public school. However that will be a few years from now after I get my medical practice open.

We are a Christian family, however the school is registered as a non- religious school. We attend two churches, one on Sundays and Tuesdays..my husband's home church, whom which I love. And then a different church on Wednesdays,my home church, because I love the missionettes program my children are in. So my daughters will receive some interaction during the week there. As well as ballet classes.

I look forward to chatting with all of you.
