How much sleep is too much?
I have a 5 month old girl, when she is awake she is very outgoing, but she is not awake too often. She wakes at 5:30am then falls asleep around 7 for an hour and a half she then falls asleep around 11ish for 3 to 4 hours than naps through out the afternoon and goes down for the night by 9pm. Is this normal? In short, she is only awake for about one to one and a half hour periods.

This is normal. Thes best advice given to me was to make sure within two hours of waking they are back asleep. My son is 6 months and he goes about 1- 1 1/2 hours before sleeping again. So yes totally normal. And trust me I have seen a baby that does not nap but twice a day and she is no fun. Overtired and really doesnt respond to anything. I ike my son happy and responsive in the time he is awake. They say it should change to longer periods around 8-9 months though.
