My son had it on the face too real bad I lotioned him regularly and used vaseline when it was really bad. I also do not bathe him everyday maybe everyother because that also dries out the skin. What kind of detergent are you using on ur clothes and the babies? |

My son has had it on his face since he was about 2 months and he also had it on his chest and stomach...I started putting baking soda in his bath water every night but I don't use soap but every other night or unless he has gotten really sticky. I've also bought a vitamin e cream and I put it on him in just those spots every night as I'm getting him dressed. He's now 6 months old and even tho his chest and stomach are better and the patch on his face isn't so bad I still use the baking soda and cream every night, just in case.
I hope this helps |

Hello, my son is now 5 months and has had it since about 2 months also. My dr. recommends lotion lotion lotion, and also if you are breastfeeding you may want to limit the amount of mild that you drink. That really helps with my son. He gets it on his back and belly, legs and face sometime in the crease of his arms and stuff. lotioning really really helps keeping it under control and try to keep his face dry from all of the drooling, good luck I hope that this was some help to you. |

Our son is 18 months and has had it since 2 weeks. We use hydrocorisone only when it gets bad. Have you tried Aquaphor? There is even a line for babies. However, it is very greasy and can stain clothing; but since the patch is on her face, she may rub in into her eyes??? We've tried just about everything and what works for us is the Aveno Baby line products. We use the head to toe dye-free soap and the Aveno baby lotion. It is keeping it at bay for us...for now. We also HAVE to use the dye free detergent like Tide Free or I think some others have used ALL Free detergent. The best advice is to take out everything that is full of fragrance and dyes that comes into contact with her skin. Soap, lotion, detergent, fabric softeners - including dryer sheets and Johnson &Johnson baby stuff unless it's for eczema. However, their products made our son's worse. It is a constant battle. If I remember correctly, our son's got worse about the 5-6 month age and then got better again. Just make sure when you wash her do NOT rub with a towel or cloth. Our pedi told us to use our hands or a friction free cloth. Even when drying, only pat her dry and then apply lotion. Lots of lotion.
That said, what works for us doesn't work for everyone. I hope you find something soon. I know how painful it is to feel helpless when it comes to fighting eczema for your baby! Good luck! |

my son does not have excema but he did have red bumps on his arms. i switched to Burt's Bees baby soap and baby lotion and it cleared up and also made his skin soft. you could also try California Baby products. these products are more expensive but are all natural so that might help. |

Hello, my 11 month old daughter has excema. You want to be careful putting the hydrocortisone on her face. It can effect the pigment. You should put a humidifier in her room, we use cool mist. We also have found that Eucerin lotion works the best, kind of expensive though. We use the calming creme 2x aday every day. If she has a bad patch of excema we use the Eucerin Plus on those spots. The problem with the Plus is it has alpha hydroxy in it so you have to be extra careful in the sun. We also only bath her 2x a week in luke warm water and make bath time as quick as possible with lotion right away. We have been doing this for 5 months now and we no longer have to use the hydrocortisone. Hope this helps. |

Hello... lots of good ideas here. Emerie had the same thing, and her doctor said to use the big tub of Cetaphil lotion. Its hypoallergenic and perfume free and all that good stuff, but it wipes in very easy and she has never got it into her eyes. After her bath, I put it all over her body (to keep all of her soft and moisturized) and some on her cheeks. She has it mostly on her legs but a little on both cheeks too. That stuff has worked very well. We also put baby oil on her before that, to keep her extra moisturized. These were tips from her doc, and we also don't bathe her but every couple days, and use less soap and more rinsing and water, and make sure we drain the tub and then rinse her again with all water, to make sure no leftover soap on her skin. I hope this helps! :)
Good luck! Kaulana PS We also are praying over her skin too. God can do anything! :) |

My daugher had excema this winter and our Dr. recommended fragrnece free, dye free, oatmeal based body soap; using Dreft or something similar for her clothes; and using the Gentle Naturals Excema Lotion. It worked wonderfully. I did have to use the lotion regularly- 3 or 4 times a week; but it kept the excema away really well. |

I'm not sure if your baby is breastfeeding,, using formula or eating food, but sometimes excema can be from food allergies. I would google the top food allergies for children. Dairy is always at the top of the list. So in addition to the wonderful suggestions you've already been given, you may want to check out the food allergy thing (if you haven't already). Good luck! |

We use Aveeno as well. We have the cream bath wash and the lotion and it's working great!
Try having your baby in the bath for no less or more than 10 minutes. Too soon and the baby hasn't absorbed the water into her skin, too much and ... I forget but it's no good. lol |
