Returning to work
I just returned to work full-time and I'm really struggling with the schedule. I feel like I can't devote enough time to my baby and I definitely can't devote enough time to sleep. As a result, I'm not feeling very useful at work right now. I don't know many mothers of babies who work full time so I don't have many people woho can give advice. I wish things weren't this way but working is a necessity for me.

I am in the same situation. I only have few hours to be with my baby during the evenings and he wakes up every 2-3 hrs during the night. I am exhausted!!! But, this is what I try to do...when he goes to sleep at night I rush to pre-prepare lunch/dinner for the next day so when I pick him up from the day care I have quality time to devote to him while he's awake. At work during my lunch break hour after I eat I take a nap (hehe I am used to eat in 15 minutes). And lastly, but very important, I set my mind to think that he is doing great at the child care center and that I am a great mom for working to be able to provide him with a better life.

I work full time right now while Jay (my fiance) stays home with the baby. I feel bad because when I get out of work, I'm too tired to really do too much with the baby. I mean, at this point (she's 5 months) she doesn't need much for entertainment, but what about later?

What I can suggest it just enjoy the time you do have with your baby. As for the lack of sleep. caffeine helps. There's also a pill called No-Doz which is great. I mean, don't replace sleep with it. Get as much sleep as you can, but for that extra boost, try the No-Doz.

Is it worth it for you to have the full-time job? Do you have any other choice? Could you go part-time just until your baby is older and doesn't require as much of your energy? Could you adjust your lifestyle any to help with lowering your budget?
It just seems that many moms run themselves way too thin...and a majority don't really need to. But, if you do NEED to work full-time, then stay as healthy as you possibly can through sleep and your diet and see if you can find some support.

Thanks for the responses - things are falling into place a little more now. We're getting used to the new routine and I'm looking into making some changes that may help too. Thanks again everyone!
