New to group

Hello..I have loved photography ever since I got my first camera in 7th grade. I love it even more now that my boys are all in sports. I don't feel I take the greatest pictures but I was elected to take official pictures for my boys cubscout group.. Like I said..I am not the greatest photgrapher but I now have to become one..any ideas for me..?
