I TRIED GIVING MY SON THOSE TEETHER BISQUITS FROM GERBER, BUT HE MANAGES TO BITE CHUNKS OFF AND THEN HE CHOKES. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN LET MY SON TO FEED HIMSELF WITH AND NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT HIM CHOKING??

I am having the same problem. My daughter is 1 yr. old this month and still has no teeth. The only thing I found so far that works for her is those veggie puffs. She kinda gums them and they dissolve in her mouth so I don't worry about choking.

They are puffs kinda like Cheerios but they dissolve quickly in babies mouth. They have different flavors like sweet potato, apple, banana. I seen them at Walmart in the baby food aisle.

My daughter also eats the gerber puffs she loves them. That is amazing that he bites chunks out of those cookies my daughter makes a mess out of them. My daughter eats stage three foods and it helps her with chewing, you might also want to try giving him small amounts of rice. Cook it real well and then give him about 3-4 grains at a time. It is time consuming, but it will help. Also they sell these little suckie bags that you can put food in, almost any kind and they can chew it as much as they want and it is impossible for them to choke because it is in a mesh bag. They sell them at walmart too. I would try those if you are worried about choking. I have heard good things about them from my friends who have children. Good luck

Try very small pieces of soft foods like cereal bars, bananas, well cooked pasta and american cheese if he can have dairy. Some crackers dissolve very quickly, like club crackers, and my son does well with those. He is almost 8 months old and has no teeth yet, but he gums his food well. I also tried vanilla wafers, but they don't dissolve as quickly, so he had a little trouble with those.
If these don't work, or you don't want to risk it, the mesh feeders can give him the opportunity to practice chewing. When he gets the hang of it, try again without the mesh feeder.
