I am the mother of a beutiful little Boy who will be two in august! Just looking for people to relate to and chat with. First of my friends to have a baby and while I know they care we are on another level. They aren't really interested in "poopy diapers" or the 3 am wake up calls. LOL!

I have a two year old as (turns two on Sat.) Yes, it is hard when you're friends can't relate; and yes my son wakes up EVERY NIGHT between 12 & 4. What else is giong on with you?

My little boy turned two in May. He doesn't wake up during the night but I know what you mean about wanting to find friends. Most of my friends are older and they either don't have kids or there kids are teenagers.

Just changed career paths so that I can spend more time with my son. I am now working 3 days and 2 nights (after Brendan goes to bed) but find that during the days off I am at a loss of what to do. I like crafty stuff but find that he is to young for alot of that and being out doors is great but how often can you go to the park/ zoo/ pool by yourselves b4 it gets repetitive. I find that I am not having as much fun doing those things and in turn Brendan is then bored. Any ideas?

I stay at home full time. It can get very lonely. I'm not sure what to tell you except that I find that having a playmate for my toddler really takes the pressure off me trying to entertain him.

Welcome to the group Shawnie, I would suggest that you go to the parents tab at the top of this page and search by zip code. This will pull up all parents that belong to the entire website in your zip code. You can then view their profiles and e-mail them via this site to set up play dates. I am a working mom of a two year old as well. I work very flexible second shift hours and this has worked out alright for us. When I first joined this site I searched for parents and found nearly a dozen in my immediate area (which was a shock because I live in a very small town) and now we set up playdates and such. This does take alot of the pressure off when you are board and looking to entertain yourself and your child.
As far as crafts go he may be a little young for alot of stuff but I started my son on crafts at a bout a year and a half out of winter desperation. We did pudding paintings, sidewalk chalk, markers and crayons. I have a whole file of things that we hvae done or will be trying to do so let me know if you are interested in any of them. Also for you personally I also moderate a crafty moms page on here if you would like an invite just let me know.

Hi Shawnie!

I just joined myself this past week. And yes, those poopy diaper wake-up calls can be the highlight of the evening =) I am also the first in my group of friends to marry and have kids and sometimes it's hard to relate to the "issues" that they are having in life when you're so focued on keeping a steady routine, nutrition and thier health. I do set up at least one playdate a week to give the kids (and myself) something to look forward to that week. Have fun scoping out the site - there's lots of useful information.

Ihave a daughter who is 2 1/2 I know what you mean girl about wanting to find friends. I have some great friends but none have kids my daughters age. I have found a few people from the comp. to hang out with that has kids close to her age, but we havent gotten a real close friendship yet. My daughter does still wake up occasionally also.Good luck to you. Check out meetup.com and cafemom.com

It is such a relief to know that you are not the only one... =) This is something I have been meaning to do for a while and now I just regret that I waited so long! Thanks Girls!
