Hi Moms and Dad,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I am the Local Childcare Coordinator for Cultural Care for the South Bay. I support over 25 host families and au pairs in this are from El Segundo to Palos Verdes. We have au pairs from all over the world, including Mexico, Brazil, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Panama and Moldova.
If you are not familiar with au pairs, they are live-in childcare providers who come to the U.S. as part of a State Department approved cultural exchange program. They can work up to 45 hours per week, and the cost is about $310 per week, whether you have one child or four. It is very flexible, and very affordable, which is why more and more families are considering the program these days.
