my son was dx with Sensory integration dysfunction at 18months old. Now that he is 4 he has been dx with ODD,intermit explosive disorder w/aggression and adhd. He is risperadal. He would throw the remote control, his cars, shoes at me. He is currently taking speech. I love him so much I would do anything for him. He does have a IEP that the school will have to follow it in k4. |

Hello Laura. Can you answer some questions? What is risperadal? I have been running into other parents who's kids have ODD lately. What is that and what signs should we look for? How do you deal with this problem? Is there a special method to handle the anger? My son has been known to throw a thing or two at me when he gets upset. Sounds like you are working very hard to help your son. Good job. |

I hope the new meds work! Keep us posted. We need to get some help with my son's asthma/alergies this summer. It is so hard finding the proper medication for anything. My son's sensory issues flare up everytime he has asthma. It was even worse when he had an allergic rash. I hope your quest goes well! Is it common for you to have to change his meds periodically? Do you live in a large urban area where there are specialists? There are very few doctors around here that deal with childhood psyc issues. I am lucky my doctor group has one on staff but it is a total rarity around here. I can't image how hard it would be to find help in a rural area. |
