Hey all,
It seems everyone is enjoying the spring with the warm weather (at least it has been nice around here...). Anyway, I just wanted to touch base with everyone and see how you all have been doing and get some updates.
Our big breakthrough...Arden said moo the other day and has been consistant with it since then. Usually he says "mmmm-Boo." We have been working on Moo for so looong, and he seems to finally have it. :-)
I hope all is going well for all of you and your little ones. |

Rhonda, It is such a great feeling isn't it when they learn a new word.! I have some good news of my own. Aidan had his eval a few weeks ago. Expressively he has gained a whole year, and receptively he has gained a year and a half! He says about twenty words now, and can even put two together at a time, and uses his signs more diligently. We are very proud of him. I have no doubt in my mind that his therapy is a god send.
It's funny that you mentioned that Arden took forever to say moo. That is one of the words we've been working with Aidan on. So far he hasn't said it. Instead he'll say boo or oooh. Maybe the m sound is hard to say.
Anyway, progress is always a great thing, and I'm happy your son is doing well!

Hey Erin-
Congrats on the great news of the evaluation. It sounds like all the hard work is definately paying off! You must have been thrilled! I am so happy for you.
I tricked Arden into saying "moo" the first time. He was really whining over something one day and drawing everything out. "mmmaaaammmeee" and that type of thing. So, I told him to say "moo." The first time he said "no, mmm-boo mommy" and I did it agan. When he said "no moo mommy" it was right. I was so excited! So after I told him what a great job he did, we worked on it for a while and then all day long I kept at it having him say moo. It was really by accident, but now he seems to have it. He has said it the old way before, but as soon as he does, we stop and work on it some more.
Good luck! And keep us updated on how things are going.
