My name is Anne and my daughters name is Victoria Rose. Victoria will be 14 months on the 8th. About what age is a good time to start patty training? Victoria is at the stage where she brings a diaper when she is wet or poopy(I don't know if she know exactly what she is doing it is only once in awhile), and likes to hide when she is filling her diaper. She also likes to follow us into the bathroom and try to flush the toilet. I know there isn't a magic age but I was just wondering, she is my first baby.
Hello Anne, it is usually said that the best time to begin potty training is when your child show signs that he/she is ready, such as the ones that your daughter is showing. If you can somewhat pinpoint around what time during the day she is most likely to wet/fill her diaper then you can try to begin by sitting her down on the potty for a few just so she can get a feel as to how it is. If she goes in the potty then you may give her praise or you could even begin a potty chart where she can recieve stickers everytime she goes in the potty. I've done this with all my children and its worked out pretty well although there were days where it didn't go so well, but the main thing is to encourage them and be positive. Hope this helps.
Hi Tamika, thank you so much for the idea I will try it and see how she does. The other day she was pooping in her diaper and my husband set her on her little potty still in her diaper. She didn't know what to think she sat there for a minute and then wanted down. But we thought maybe it would give her a little idea as to what it is for.
