Are they starting to play games yet?
I was just wondering if any of your toddlers are starting to play games? My son loves to play his own variation of hide and go seek and also loves ring around the rosie. We want to buy Hungry Hungry Hippos and see if he will be interested in that board game but I was wondering if any of your toddlers have a favorite game to play.

My son (21 months) loves to play his own version of hide and seek. He pulls on my pant leg and says "cla cla" (meaning closet), and leads me to the closet. He then closes me in the closet, laughing away, and runs to "hide" in my nursing rocking chair. He stands on his head and giggles until I burst out of the closet and "attack" him with tickles. He plays this same game with Dada too, and sometimes he makes us both go in the closet...so fun, if not only a little cramped. :)
He also loves to play with the old-school stacking rings made by Fisher-Price.
Hungry Hungry Hippos sounds like fun, but I'd make sure those little balls the hippos eat aren't a choking hazard. My son still puts things in his mouth, and I know he'd "eat" those little white balls...just check the age tag on the game.

We just picked up the ducky game where they are in the "water" which is just a wheel that spins and they try to match colors. He is not great with colors yet but I still think the game will be fun...

My girl is almost 2 and likes ring aroud the rosie and she loves to color. Thank goodness crayola makes washable crayons. She also likes sidewalk chalk and bubbles. Oh and blocks, she loves blocks. She likes to stack them and then knock them over and laugh.

Our son loves to go hide & have you find him. He thinks if his eyes are covered you can't see him. He'll roll his trains or trucks & say they're broken then get his tools & fix them. He's on this new thing of acting like he's stuck so you have to pull him up or out of what ever he's in.

My daughter really hasn't started playing any games yet, beside peek-a-boo, but she is only 14 months. Is it around age 2 when they really get interested in other types of games?

That probably depends on your child more than age. My son has always been around other children and loved to play ring around the rosie at about 18 months or so, then there are nursery songs like the Wheels on the Bus and Itsy Bitsy Spider, he probably started participating in those at about 14 months or so.
