Raising Boys
Public online group

Hello
Hi! I am raising three small boys. One is 1 1/2 and one is 4yo and one is 8yo. My husband is a truck driver, so needless to say I do most of the parenting. Hope to talk with other moms that have boys also.

Hi Melissa,

Welcome, I'm fairly new to this group as well. I have two one year old boys, they are something else.

Have a good weekend everyone.

hi, my name is caitlyn. i am a young mom ( 19 1/2) and my husband is 22. our son is 2 months old. at times it feels like i am a single mom because my husband doesnt do much!! he works 3rd shift for Walt disney and i am going to start to be a nany for 2 tiwn premie boy and a 3 year old girl. their mom will be home so i will be just helpng out and taking the 3 year old out to play. the good thing about this job is that i will be able to take devon ( my son) with me. my husband doesnt think that being a stay at home mom is a job!!! BOY IS HE WRONG!!! my son is growing up SOO FAST!!! he just started on cereal yesterday because he was drinking 5 oz every 2 hours!!!

I work part time out of the home for about 5 hours in the morning as a teacher. I love my boys but I think being a mom is one of the most hardest job every. I stayed home for a little bit with the boys when we first moved here. It is a lot of work, so don't let him get you down. Being a SAHM is one of the hardest job, not only are you with little kids and spit up all the time, but it can be also a very isolated job. But the pay is wonderful, you get paided with cookies and hughs and kisses. Your bosses might be small but you will never find another boss that will show you much respect. How fun would it be to work at disney land!

i work at disneyworld (seasonal, when ever i want) and i love everyminute of it!!! playing with the kids and to see their faces light up is the main reason y i work there. so if you ever take a trip to orlando fl and want to go to disney world let me know!!! i can get u in for free!! ( one of the best perks of working there)

I agree that a sahm is the most important job there is. Your husband is wrong to think that being a doctor, a referee,a teacher, a babysitter , a cook and a maid ect..is not working he needs to add up how much he owes people who would replace you if you didn't stay home..Later, when your boy(s) get older you also take on taxi driver and delivery person(for all the calls and messages)..hope this gives you some reassurance....Ps 113:9 "HE maketh the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children, Praise ye The Lord..

I agree too. I was a successful businesswoman for years and when I had my son, I decided not to go back. We had to make serious financial sacrifices, but it is soooooo worth it.

I was working full time and then some prior to the birth of our son. Once they handed him to me I know my long work weeks were over. I'm now working PT, 3 days a week, and it's so rewarding to be the main care-giver for our son (he's watched by family on the days I work, so we're really lucky), but it's taken a toll on us financially for sure. We're hoping to downsize to a smaller house/mortgage, but the market is bad and the house won't sell, so there's so much stress there. Anyway, I'm lucky to have a husband who appreciates all the work I do.....well, most of the time, anyway.
