| where i live there is this program where you can have a county worker come out and talk to you and tell you things and if you need anythign they will help you get it. well we started talking about my daughter and how i had been having problems getting her to go to sleep. so me and my husband decided to get an mp3 player and speakers to put in her room and play music and what not on so she will sleep. well thats not the bad part ive been getting audio books and letting her listen to them i got the harry potter books and she likes those but she also like this book called the body famr and the anne rice vampire novel because some of them are read by woman. well the woman went off on how that will give her nightmares and she will be badly influenced and blah blah blah. then she asked me what i had on the tv cause my daughter was watching it well it was csi miami. mia loves it she gets so upset with my husband cause one of his ringtones is the theme and every time it goes off she starts looking at the tv expecting to see csi and normally doesnt. i dont know why she likes certain shows ive tried getting her to watch the kids shows she doesnt like them elmo makes her cry. and she is scared of the tellitubbies she screams whenever their on. it pitiful so i watch shows like csi and crossing jordan. my duahgter watches what we watch and very few childrens shows. and yhis woman keeps telling me she going to have nightmares and learn bad words and she going to be a brat and it just pissed me off. i cant make her like something. the woman told me i need to try harder with the kids shows. ive tried i cant sit and let her shriek for a half hour just because this woman thinks she knows wahts best for my daughter. the last time she was over she insinuated i was a neglectful mom by saying things like i never see you hold her and how her nails are so long. it makes me mad cause she treats me like an idiot ive been taking care of babies since i was nine that 13 years of child care experience. i know how to take care of my daughter and it makes me mad this woman is talking to me like some dumb kid. she does have good info and resources i dont but she been really irrating me lately. |

| You know honestly if this woman has to come out to your house and you have to put up w her then heres what you do.Just agree w everything she says; nod politely ,and say yes yes yes and when she leaves,live like you always do.Ppl like that always think they know whats best and just let em keep thinking that way.There is no getting around or along w know it alls. |

| I do something like that as well with my daughter and the people do the same thing to me. I used to get angry and frustrated, but now I do what Lexi said and I just nod and when they leave, I do things how they work for me. They try to say my daughter is not getting enough nutrition because she doesn't take a lot of bottles. I can't exactly shove them down her throat!!! Plus she is 10 months old and wants to eat what I am eating, NOT a bottle! So I just say "Yes, I understand she needs 32 ounces a day" and go back to giving her the three bottles she will take throughout the day. If it gets too bad, you might want to consider how valuable these people really are to you and if you want them to keep coming back. |
