This weekend we are going camping with my family. The children will be ranging from 1 yr-15. I am planning on making "worms in dirt" (chocolate pudding, crushed oreo cookies and a gummie worm) as a fun treat. Does anyone else have any cute ideas for food or snacks? Thanks in advance! |

Hi Amanda, To go with your camping theme how about the traditional smores ( chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers ) for the younger who cant really have chocolate or marshmallows they could still munch on the graham crackers and another one is trail mix , you can pretty much make that with whatever is appropriate age wise maybe for the little ones teddy grahams and goldfish crackers and for the older ones you could use the same mix but say add pretzels and peanuts. Well, hope that helps. |

Hi Amanda,
When I need a good kids snack, I always look up: Parents.com or familyfun.com. They both have really good and fun stuff for kids. That's what I do for fun on a rainy day. Good Luck! Have Fun! |

There are "ants on a log" raisins are the ants on top of peanut butter spreaded on celery sticks which are the logs... Or let the kids eat "heatlhy hearts", cut watermelon with a heart shaped cookie cutter stick a toothpick diagonally like an arrow and use other fruits like pineapple to make the arrow shape. You can make sandwhiches and use cookie cutters, I use the heart-spade-club-diamond cutter for sandwiches. And like the other mommy said, you can never go wrong with smores! :) Have a great time!

Oh, and one more thing they have lunchable jrs. for the little ones. They have ones with cubed cheese and meat and crackers and then others with cookies/crackers, yogurt, and cheese sticks! You can find coupons for them in the paper or online I believe. |

Peanut butter spiders would be fun since it's a camping trip and there are plenty of bugs! You just spread some PB on a ritz cracker and stick 4 pretzel sticks on each side...then stick another cracker on top... you could always put a little more PB on to stick on some marshmallows for eyes, my nieces even enjoyed this for Halloween! |

Jessica, if you make the "dirt and worms" for a lot of people you can also serve it in a bucket and use a shovel to serve it! |

Amanda that sounds cute. I know my little boy would love that. He is a big bug fan. |
