diaper dilemma
My little guy is 6 months old and has been doing a great job of sleeping through the night. He now sleeps on his tummy which has helped. However, lately he has been waking up in the middle of the night with his clothes and sheet wet with pee. I've been using Pampers. Is there a different diaper brand that works better for boys? Any other thoughts/suggestions on keeping him dry through the night? Thanks!
Liz :)

My son has been sleeping through the night since 1 month he is now 13 months. We had the same problem with him waking up in the morning wet and the bed wet also. My In-Laws found a night time diaper by Huggies, we also use pampers and like the better, but the dont have a night time diaper so we use the Huggies night time for him to sleep in and they work great he doesnt wake up wet 99.9% of the time. We comprimsed on using the huggies at night even though we dont like huggies, since its only 1 a night we use. We find them at Wal-Mart if you want to get them, the only thing I found was the tend to be a little smaller so we buy the next size i.e. he wears a 4 in pampers so we get him the 5 in Huggies night time. We have been using these diapers for a good 8 months or longer and we love them, they are a life saver and time saver in the morning. Good luck, Rita

Hi Liz. I was one of those moms who wanted to find out which diaper would work better for my son. He's 3 months now. I did a lot of research online. Finally, I bought a baby of huggies and one of Luvs. My son used pampers swaddle and it was wonderful when he was a newborn. However, the swaddles don't come in his size anymore. I tried Luvs and I didn't like the feeling. It has a tough plast feeling. I used it during the day and it did just fine. However, I though it would be very uncomfortable for him to use all night. The huggies seemed to be better for night time. The diaper turns into a hard gel once it's wet and it seems to hold the urine better. Pampers would leak sometimes so I use those during the day. I have not tried the Pampers crusers yet since he's not heavy enough. It was voted the best diaper by the consumer report. Huggies also seem a little softer and have better corner protection. So I would try huggies and see how it works. I did not try any of the generic brands so I couldn't really tell you how well they work. I hope this helps!

Hey Ladies
My son is two now and since he doesnt get milk anymore or a liquid diet obviously he really doent leak at night so just remmebr that cause I had the same problem when my son was very young he would leak at night once in ahile but its seems expected since he would get milk before bed then. The solution for me was going up a size at the time in the pampers brand I used and it pretty much solved the issue but believe me once then start of more solids then milk your problem will be solved.

I had the same problem with my oldest when he was a baby, I switched to Huggies and they seemed to do the job. Also, try to make sure his little penis is pointed down - that helps too.

Huggies for boys, Pampers for girls!!! When we first brought my son home, the hospital had us using Pampers, which were great, but I found that once he moved up a size the papmers didn't seem to fit right. I had also heard from a mom in my family that Huggies worked best for her son. My husband has a 10yr old daughter and he found that Huggies never fit her right..... so he has always said Huggies for boys Pampers for girls! The night time diapers work great. My son seems to be super sensitive to wetness lately so a lot of times I end up changing him right before I go to bed, even though he has been sleeping for hours. He'll start whining, I change him and he's back to sleep in an instant. If you try Huggies nighttime and you find your son is still waking up with a wet bed, and a five pound diaper, I would suggest a semi-late night changing.

I have a 10 month old and we had the same problem. I have always used huggies and I found that at night I just put a diaper that is one size bigger and it has seemed to work so far. I have never seen the huggies night time, I will have to look next time I go to the store.

Thank you for the tips. My son is 9 months old and I was having the same problem. I've always used Pampers. I liked them best. They seemed more comfortable. We were having the night time leaks. I just tried Huggies and went a size up and haven't had a leak since the switch. They seem to work well for little boys. Thanks to all that had advise!!

If anyone lives in an area that has the Harvest Foods grocery chain, they carry Huggies Nitetime. I saw them there yesterday and they had a wide range of sizes.

my son is 17 months old and we had that same problem to i thought it was just me lol but yea i have learned to use one size bigger and when you put the diaper on make sure that the 2 tabs meet in the middle to wear they are almost overlapping each other so its nice and tight and that has cut down the leaks 95% we still haev the occasional slip up when he drinks to much before bed though : )

My son is two now and I have always had this problem. Then I cut down on his liquids and now we have dry nights.
