Welcome Emily. I am glad you decided to join our group. I know we have at least one young lady who has done similar events. Hopefully she will contact you. They sound like a lot of fun, but I think it is too much for me just yet. Hope to hear more from you soon. |

I had started training for one when I found out I was pregnant.... Here is my advise... (what I did) I bike and swim so running was my weak point. Work extra hard on what you are worst at. I would bike how I always do. And Swimming I did when I could, but running I had to start from the beginning (walk 2 min. jog 1 min. and so on) I read triathlon magazines, they have awesome tips for beginners and the "for dummies" books. Also my hubby trains with a National coach for biking and he also gave me some tips for running. Check your local running stores for group runs or coaching. Start with a tri that has a shorter distances for your first one so you can get the feel of what it takes. I can't wait to do my first one... I am sure it will have to be in 09' Hope it helped |

I talked to a good friend of mine who does tri's. He said a good way to start is to do your own. map out a course and time your self |
