I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can't have another child due to a medical condition? I have an almost 4 year old son and I developed HELLP Syndrome a month before he was due, so I was forced to deliver a month early. After all the medical info and testing done on me, it is best for my health and safety to have no more children. It is so hard to come to grips with this forced decision. Also, I worry about our son as he grows up and realizes that he is alone with no sibling support as my husband and I had. |

If you want a baby that badly, I think you should try again, with a lot of prayer. Really, we cannot predict what would happen.
I am also very depressed. That is why I have only one 4 year old son. I have a decent marriage, lots of supportive relatives--and I still can barely function each day. I feel terrible about having an only since I grew up in a big family. However, I worry about having another one and going ballistic and being dangerously depressed like Andrea Yates or something. I feel no animosity toward my child but worry if I had another one with the hormonal changes, etc, that it would be a nightmare. |

How about adoption or using a surrogate? |
