I joined you in complaining about gas prices and noticed you are a mom to 3 boys. I am a mom of 4 children. Christopher 9, Matthew 7, Rchel 4 and Michelle 1. I have weight problems with Christopher. I have really been trying to get him moving. He likes to sit and play videogames too much. So it ha been a struggle to get him outside and interested in other things. We just put up a basketball net and that has had some interest, but its hard. Where is prudenville I am from Livonia. MI? Sheryl

Sheryl; I live in Houghton Lake in the upper part of northern Michigan. I know where Livonia is..I used to live in Oxford. My middle son has a weight problem because of his jeans. My husband struggles and so does his family. I am concerned because he doesn't need to go through the turmoil. It hit me when he went to a indoor waterpark with his class and wanted to take a t-shirt to wear in the pool. It tore me apart.. I try to be possitive around him but he likes to crack jokes about others imperfections..He's just asking for trouble..Rebee

Oh ok. I had some family members retire in Houghton Lake. Thats pretty far. What are gas prices that way? They are about 3.83 now down here. RE: yourt son have you talked to his ped. about what could be done to help? Sheryl

I am finally back online.

To answer your question about taking him to the doctor, my husband is totally against it and feels I am making a big deal out of nothing. He turned 10 in May,and has gained weight since then. He didn't join football this year and is extremely inactive. I wish they had a YMCA here..Becky
