Hi! I am moving to Portage in early June 08 and want to get my 4 yo son, AJ connected with friends as soon as possible. Since we won't have school until the fall, making friends over the summer will make our transition a lot easier on both of us since we are leaving a very full social life in Texas.
Please contact me if you know of an existing group or would like to start a new one with me.

Hi Suzanne,
I live close to Portage.( Mattawan area) My Friend Kristen and I just started a mommy and me walk once a week. If you would like to join up with us let me know. E-mail me when you move to the area and I can tell you time and place.
I have a 2 1/2 yr. old girl and 1 yr. old boy. Kristen has a 6 month old girl. So we would love to meet you and welcome to Michigan!

Hello Suzanne!
I have a 4 year old son as well, and we are looking for new playmates with fast approaching summer holiday. We live here in Kalamazoo,MI
which is about 15 minutes from Portage. We go to the park over off Milliham Road, by Portage Commerce bank. It is a clean park and a lot of the neighborhood children go there and play, they have trails and stuff for the whole family to do. If you would like to get together and have play date meeting please send my a private message.

If you wanted to we could set up weekly playgroups with the boys, so that they can get to know one another, and us as well. Oren goes back in September for school, so I also think that it would be beneficial for Oren to have more playmates. It has been hard as of late to get steady playmates for him. So keep in touch and we will see and meet you all soon!!

Hi Lisa! Weekly playdates sounds great! What time of day and day of week works best for you? We had a playgroup in TX that met on Fridays at 10am at parks or homes when the weather was bad. Would that time frame work for you? AJ will be starting swimming lessons on July 7th so I will have to work around that for 2 weeks but he doesn't have them on Fridays.
OK - I just remembered that you aren't available on weekdays since you work. Let me know what works best for you. AJ and I will be available some weekends but since our family is checking out the area, we may have some weeks when we have to hang with dad. But we can work something out.

| Hi. I live near by (oshtemo) and have a 14 month old daughter. We are also trying to find playgroups for her. I am a teacher so week days work during the summer. |

Michelle - my son is 4yo but you are welcomed to join us anytime. perhaps we can get some others to join us who have kids closer to 14 mos. but in the mean time any connection is better than none.
Give me a call if you want to meet at a park sometime. Also the Portage Library has a great Preschool room.

I'm a member of sahm(stay at home mom) of Portage. They are a great group of women. They have kids that range from newborn to school age. You can look it up on www.meetup.com. The member organizer is Amy, and she will have you come to a meeting outside some-one's home first. Let me know if you need any help. Hope to meet you soon! |
