Question of the Week 5/12 - 5/18
If you have been homeschooling for a while the question is when did you first start homeschooling your children? Was it from the start or did you pull them out of school?

For those just going to start homeschooling are you going to from the start or are you pulling your children out of school?

I wanted to homeschool from the beginning but that didn't work out. I pulled Daniel out of school 3/4 of the way through 7th grade grade due to bullying and death threats. I pulled Rachel out 1/4 of the way through 5th grade because of the social attitudes she was picking up. Daniel will graduate homeschool in 2010. It looks like Rachel will be going back to public school for high school (her choice - not mine).

I haven't begun homeschooling my oldest, because his dad currently has primary custody, but if/when that changes, he'll be out of school right away. The other kids will be homeschooled right from the start.

Our son went to pre-school last year and pre-k this year, but we'll start the homeschooling for Kindergarten, and we'll just try it out year by year and see how it goes! Right now, we're in the process of trying to organize storage space for the books, crafts, etc. I'm wanting to get organized before the stuff gets out of control =).

My 6 yr. old is currently in kindergrten, but will be homeschooled for 1st grade. We both are very excited about it.

We stared when my oldest would have entered Kindergarten. The summer before hubby and I talked about it and I did research on it and that's when we decided we would homeschool. We are now finishing up our third year.

We pulled our son out of 2nd grade due to issues with the school. He has been doing very well at home, and I am happy that we made the change.

Before my son was ever born my husband and I knew we wanted to home school. My son thought public school was like what he had seen on TV so we enrolled him in first grade during the beganing of this past school. After only one week he was begging to be pulled out. He is now asking to be put back in. my husband and I both feel uncomfortable with the idea of giving our son to some one we don't know knowing that if any thing happens the teacher and school can not be held responsible. So I doubt if our son will ever go back or at least not until he is much older.
