How can you get 2 year old boys to potty train? My son will pee on the potty once in a blue moon. But not everyday. |

Does your son go in and watch your husband use the toilet? that is one of the best ways for a boy to learn. you will also need to ask on a regular basis if he needs to go. I also must say that in my experience that usually boys are closer to the age of 3 before they are potty trained. |

Ugh. I stress over potty-training for some reason! My son is 19 months, and not even close to the peeing-scheme. I worry! I hope we both have good luck soon! |

My son was 1 month from being 3 when he potty trained and I really think he did it because he was ready, I tell everybody he decided not me, and what really helped was being around other kids his age that were potty trained, which is hard being a SAHM. Good luck! but don't push, and somebody once told me, you don't see any 5 year olds in diapers do you! They will get it when they are ready, just keep encouraging them! |

That is some good advice! My mom told me the same thing... she said not to worry because the day he enters Kindergarten, he should be good to go! (o: Pushing is the worst thing you can do, I'm sure, as with any other challenge/task. I just need to be patient, and let him decide when he is ready. Getting him around other little kiddos sounds like a great idea too! Thanks! |

Hello All
Can this topic be kept as a Sticky of some sort always to the top of the forum? Since I've joined there have been many threads on the topic, so it obviously a hot one! |

I have a 3 1/2 year old son that we potty trained when he turned two. I used the method from Nanny Wisdom -the link to the specific article is
http://www.nanny-wisdom.com/nanny_wisdom_newsletter/nanny_wisdom_newsletter_january_06.php
you may have to copy and paste it but it worked great. It worked great for some of my friends too as long as you stick to it. (I know it can get a bit frustrating). He was actually potty trained in about 5 days from using this method.
Hope that helps,
Staceee

Thanks So Much. I'll try sending him to the bathroom with his father and see if that works. I've heard that you could let him pee on a tree. Is that possible? |
