Commisary question..
I'm new to this group and fairly new to military life. I was just wondering if commisaries always have yucky produce? I have a ton of other questions about moving and tricare (who doesn't) but the produce thing is really starting to get to me. Maybe it's an Norfolk thing....

Hi Becky
So... about the produce... We have now moved a total of three times, and are currently stationed in North Carolina and let me just tell you one thing. This is the very first commissary that I find the produce to be very very nice.Usually commissaries don't do a very good job stacking nice produce. That may be a generalization, but on all the other bases I usually found a nice local farmers market near by. You may want to ask around i'm sure there is one near you. Please let me know what other questions you have... I'm fairly new at this too, but have had lots of dealings with moving and tricare.

Oh good old Tricare...if anyone can make heads or tails of it, let me know! Because just when I think I have figured out the system they change it! I have just had my third child and I have put off her physical therapy because I dread going through the hoops.

Ok, as long as y'all are up for Tricare. My son had a CT scan for which we had a referral. I received a bill for $620. I dread calling the helpline because they can be so rude. Do I pay it or fight it? I skipped out on PT for the very same reason. I feet your child's pain....literally!

Have you tried Little Creek commisary. I have had pretty good luck there

The commissaries vary by base/etc... ours isn't too bad here. One thing you can do is submit a customer feed back to them and they should improve it pretty quick. I know ours does. Good luck!

One of the biggest things is the days of the week you go.  you have to figure out when they put the fresh stuff out usually early morning payday is good.  They always have a good stock.  I have found that wednesdays as a general at our base is not a good day to go
