Bouncy Seat???
Does anyone have any advice on Bouncy Seats? Is it worth to buy them? Which brands would you recommend? Are there any known safety hazards?
Thanks!

I have to say mine came in handy, I would put my daughter in her bouncy on the bathroom floor while I would shower. Also she would sit in it to eat before she was big enough for a highchair. I got mine at babies r us it was a pink girly one. I never heard of any saftey hazard, just don't carry the child in it from place to place.

Hi Csuga,

I don't know what I would have done without bouncy seats. I have twin boys that loved them as babies. If you have a Babies r us around you they have lots of different brands and they are all reputible. If you don't have one near you, you can go to www.babiesrus.com and look at all that they have and they also have customer ratings on most of them. I wish you were close to me because I have two for sale.

I hope this helps.

My son loved and still loves his bouncy seat...we got the bobblin band bouncer, it vibrates and plays music. From about the time he turned 1 month to 3 months thats the only thing he would sleep in, so we would put the bouncer in the crib and put him in the bouncer and strap him in and he would sleep. But it was and is still a handy thing to have around the house, but my son doesn't like to bounce himself he would rather us bounce him(I guess you could say he just doesn't want to do the work)...But BabiesRus have A LOT of different bouncers and I would say the ones that vibrate are you best choice.

Thanks for all the feedbacks!!!!
I was looking on www.buybuybaby.com, but will check out Babies R Us as well.

So, I guess based on your comments, it is worth to pay the extra money to have all those extra features on the bouncy seat. (multiple music, different speed of vibration)
Any other features you would absolutely recommend?
Thanks again!

I would definitely recommend a bouncy seat. We didn't have one to begin with, then my mom found one for like five dollars at a kids second hand shop and my daughter loved it!!! I don't know that you have to have all the possible bells and whistles. Ours was fairly simple, with one bar arching over it with three toys hanging down. It did have a vibrator, but only one speed. So it's absolutely worth the investment, although they're pretty common to find in a second hand or consignment shop, so I would check there first. Enjoy!

It is DEFINATELY worth it. It is the only thing my daugher would sleep in for 3 months. She really liked the one that vibrated. Ours had some other fancy bells and whistles but by the time she was old enough to enjoy them, she was almost too big for the seat. I got my at a garage sale but wal-mart has a good selection.

It is a MUST!!! My daughter loved the vibration. It definitely helped when we first came home and nothing else was working, the bouncy chair did. Good Luck

Thanks again for all the advice!!!!

We bought a bouncy seat this past weekend. So far: mixed results....
I love it, my daughter is not yet completely for it. She is ok in it as long as we keep entertaining her. Just putting on the vibration and the music does not do it for her. By herself, she'll be ok for about 3 minutes, then starts crying. But hey, it is an improvement, first time we put her in it, she started crying right away!!! So I'm hoping she'll get used to it and then we'll be able to use it all the time.

You might want to consider a baby swing. One of my boys loved the swing. Sometimes that is the only place he would sleep. He loved to swing.

Alot of the time, we had to actually bounce it with our foot a bit for my Daughter to be calm with it. My girl also had a swing but it didn't work as well for her. I think it just depends on the baby. I would also suggest a swing if the seat isn't working too well.
