Could my two year old still be teething
All day yesterday my daughter didn't want to eat, and drank a small amount of fluids. She had a low grade fever of 99.7 and is still kinda tired this am. I have a call in to her doctor this morning, so if I have to I will take her in. The doc told me yesterday it was ok if she didn't eat for a few days, but try and give fluids. oh and no fever this am!

She could be getting her molars. Have you tried asking her if she has any pain? Our daughter started getting her molars around two and we asked her and she said teeth owwie(sp).

Oh ok, I did ask her if she had pain and she didn't say anything, but I think that it is teething, cause she won;t eat and she doesn't want to brush her teeth much.

How many teeth does she have after all of the including the two year molars theereshould be twenty. Try looking in her mouth, I know that can be hard.lolLook to see if any gums look red or anything. My daughters ped. said alot of times they may be about 2 1/2 before they cut the two year molars, but everykid is dif. sarh has all 20 and she is 28 months. Im didntt even know she was cutting the two year molars and like her other four molars cut them all four at one time. I hope she feels better soon.

My son just turned 2 last week and he just began cutting his incisor (eye) teeth within the last two days. Same MO as your daughter - my son drinks a lot of fluids but will only eat a bit or two at every meal. My son cut his molars a while ago so I knew to expect this kind of behavior.

Try some soft foods like boiled carrots or yogurt that won't hurt as bad to eat. I hope your daughter feels better soon.

yes, My daughter is 2 also and she is still teething. When she doesn't want to eat I give her plenty of fluids. or ice cream, soft cereals and or milk shakes. Hope she feels better!

My son is going through the same thing, and until I started reading this I thought he had a stomach bug, he woke up with a fever Saturday night and threw up and had diareah once, so I took him to my pedi yesterday and they checked him for strep and said that it was probably just a virual infection, so he came home and layed around and I gave him tylenol and motrin (alternated) and he would barely drink anything and would not eat anything, and I noticed last night he was pointing in his mouth and saying hurt and I thought maybe he was starting to get strep and it just didn't show up cause it was too early, then he was saying it again this morning, and again at dinner only this time said it hurt when he took a bite of a baked potatoe (it was very mashed up) so then I remembered seeing this post and thought I wonder if that is what is going on with him, sure enough I looked in his mouth, which was no easy task by the way, and his gums are white as white can be in the back, glad I saw this today I would have taken him back to the dr. thinking he had strep throat. I hope they will poke through soon so they won't hurt so bad, he hasn't hardly eaten anything in two days, he did have two yogurts and lots to drink today. Thanks for posting, it sure helped me.

My son is 19 months old and is already cutting his 2year molars. He was early with all his other teeth, too. He has been chewing on his two pointer fingers...almost gagging on them because he's putting them so far back, drooling just like he did when an infant and teething, pushing in his back jaw and ear area, had a low grade fever a few mornings ago and has been picky with meals, slow on the drinking, runny nose at odd times and sleepless. So, yeah, I'm pretty sure he's teething. lol
