Hi Piper,

Welcome to the group! I love your children's names!! Do you think you will have any more? Right now we have one daughter, we are trying for another, and we think we would like three, or maybe even four, children. I am pretty set on Aniston for a girl, but for a boy I am just not sure. I look forward to chatting with you and hearing your opinion on names! I hope you enjoy the group!

We are done having kids. We both wanted 2 so that was good that we agreed on that. I was hoping for a girl so that I could use Adalynn or we would have went with Ashlynn & Addisyn was in there also. However I am glad that we had a boy to have one of each. If our daughter was a boy we were going to name him Nixon. We both love the name but we also were thinking future and kids making fun or if Nixon would stick or if people (and himself) would shorten it to Nick which I did not like so I am glad we had a girl. Nixon did pop back into the picture with our son but the same what if's popped back in also. I know we are being silly but I had got so much crap with my name growing up that I was scared to go too crazy with my kids. But I also know kids will be kids and the making fun of is inevitable! I do like Aniston for a girl too. Hopefully you will get to use it soon =)

Welcome to the group. I love Avery. My husband likes more common names so we tend to disagree. That is why our daughters name is spelled Emilee. I hope you enjoy the group

I posted on here and then I read your message, Piper. I really like the name Piper. I love Piper Perabo.

I would love to use the name Addison for a girl but my husband's brother and his wife had a baby girl in November and they named her Madison.

I really like the name Nixon. I would have never thought of it.

It's kinda stressful trying to name a baby. My husband and I rarely agree on names.

On another subject, you ladies are in Michigan, right? How is the weather? We are coming out there for a visit and a wedding. We arrive Saturday morning. It should be a good mother's day for my mil.

Sorry for the random post. Chat with you soon.

I hear you, my husband alos likes the more common names and I like the different names so we disagreed also but I am glad he agreed with the ones we chose....there was a lot of compromising! I was surprised when he came up with Nixon!

The weather is in the 60's this week so not bad (I liked the 70's we had last week though). Rain is in the forecast staring Wed.

Hello everyone I am new to the group. My name is Katie and my daugher's name is KaeLynn.

My husband is also really into the simple names like Sara and Jane. I however did not want my daughter to have a "Jennifer complex". (The teacher calling your name and you having to say "Which one?") I am not sure about you but when I was in school, I knew at least 4 Jennifers. I did not want my daugher to go through that with her name. So my husband and I settled on KaeLynn...but it turns out it was in the top 10 list for popular names the year she was born...I guess she may have that problem after all...

If we were to have a boy, I would want to name him Aleksandr but my husband said "NO". So we settled on Carter if that were to ever come.

Hi Katie

Welcome! I know exactly what you mean. There were always at least 3 Jessicas in my class. My husband's name is Jeffrey so he also has a pretty common name. So the one thing we agreed on (when it comes to names) is that our children will have slightly less common names. We did not find out the gender of our baby so after she was born, Jeffrey was set on Arianna. I like Carter a lot. I also like Carver.

I just heard another cool name on tv the other night for a girl...Ellia (pronounced Ell-e-ah) cute!
posted by Piper on 05/24/2008 03:01 PM | edit | delete

Ooh cute name! Some form of Elle has been at the top of my list for a while now. I liked Ellaina but it would probably be pronounced Alaina. I like Ella a lot so I was kinda thinkin Ellanor.? But I really like Ellia!! Thanks for sharing!!

Well we found out that we are expecting a little boy in October so we have decided on Grant Joseph for his name.
posted by Heather on 05/26/2008 09:16 PM | edit | delete

Well Congrats! Grant Joseph is a great pick! I know I was freaking out a lot when I found out I was having a boy since I already knew how to "raise" a girl but oh my gosh he is so easy! it has been wonderful and a blessing! My daughter is such a drama queen so having him be so mellow and quiet is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice!
