RE: Boys and whinning
My son is 19 months and for the last few months, he is very clingy and he starts whinning around strangers when they speak to him. This can be embarrassing at times for me especially since I am an outgoing person. Is this just a phase?

Yes not worried!. My son is 27 months old and he used to be holding my leg and specially when I was going to cook and just whinning any time for any reason. It will be over just tell him to try to speak bc is hard for you to understand. I noticed that happen when he was tired or bored.

my son is 27 mos and is doing that, holding on my leg anytime we go somewhere new. I stay home with him so I think it makes it harder for him to be around new people at first because it's just me and him most of the time. I am looking into a Mother's Day Out Program, I don't know though I am as attached to him as he is to me I think but it's going to be a disadvantage to him as he gets older, I'm afraid he will miss out on things if he just wants to be with me all the time, so I thought maybe if he goes for a few hours once or twice a week it will help him to be around others not just mom.

Yes it's just a phase my son also went through this where he would hold onto my legs anytime someone would come over even his grandparents he sees all of the time and I could not go anywhere with out him. It could just be seperation anxiety but he will outgrow it soon. Hope this helps.
