adjusting to the gym and childcare
Hey ladies,

I have just recently lost all the weight I gained while pregnant (70 pounds) and now I'm working on that extra 15 I put on before I got pregnant. I joined the YMCA for some extra help, as it has been really hard to exercise with an 8 month old around. I tried to put my daughter in the childcare facility, and she made it about 20-25 minutes before I was paged to come and get her. She was screaming! It broke my heart. I am torn, though, because my husband works late, and I am with her for 12-14 hours a day all by myself and I need this gym time for my health and my sanity. Do any of you have any suggestions on getting her used to this? Do I just leave her in there for 15 minutes at a time and gradually increase the time she is in there? Does that work? I could really use the exercise and the break and the ability to work off some stress and pounds at the same time. Any advise?

Thanks in advance,

Miranda

Miranda I am not to sure about actually going to a gym. I know my husband and I have been taking our daughter to our community gym with us since she was about 4 months old. I am not sure what your gym policy is on keeping her in a stroller next to you. I mean even if you only get a 30 minute workout at least your getting it done. If you want that time alone which I can completely understand try doing as you mentioned increasing it by like 5 minutes every time you go until you get the desired amount of time. Or you could work out for a little go spend some time with her again and then go back to working out. It really all depends on how and what your comfortable with. Good luck.
