I am currently a stay at home mother of a wonderful 6 month old named Chloe. I love being home with her, but would love someone in the area to interact with, because as many of you probably know, sometimes you tend to go a little stir crazy. I live the the Portland area in Maine. Please tell me i'm not the only one who feels a little isolated sometimes?? |

Hi Katelyn, I am not from Maine, I live in the big city of Philadelphia, PA and I feel exactly the same way you do. I feel so isolated because I decided to stay home with my twin boys when they were born and be a stay-at-home Mom. I never thought I would feel like this. I thought the interaction with my children would suffice......NOT!!
I miss everything about being the person I used to be before I had my boys. I miss being able to come and go as I pleased, I miss adult conversation, I miss....well you know....physical contact with hubby whenever and wherever, I miss working, and adult television. My whole life revolves around my kids and I can just about sing every Barney song known to man.
Believe me you are not the only one who feels isolated.
Take care my friend, Jeanne |

Katelyn Have you tried to use the tool bar to search for parents. I used that after a woman on here told me about it and I found a couple of families in my area. You might want to try that. I do agree with all of the side aspects of being a mom, although, it is great I do also miss the adult time. Hope you find some friends near you. |
