New grass seed
I need to repair some patches in my yard and just re-seed to make things thicker but do I have to go through the hastle of fertilizer and all of that, I am alittle concerned about my son putting everything in his mouth.

Hi, I'm new here. Sorry I haven't posted an intro yet.

I throw down seed every season and I usually throw down fertilizer with it. From what I've read online it should be done, but I think if you want to wait, it's not a problem. I like to do this in the fall, when it's too chilly for the kids to play outside and I know they won't go near the fertilizer.

They also sell bags of seed, fertilizer and mulch all in one, which is what I used this time around. I think I needed to add more of it, though, as not much grass grew in my bare areas of the yard.
