sleeping troubles
My daughter Mackenzie is 13.5 months old and she still doesn't sleep through the night. She still needs a bottle through the night. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If she is still waking up for a feeding I would suggest giving her something with more substance before bed. When my son was littlier I gave him a bowl of rice cereal before bed and then he would not wake up. Just a suggestion.

Kimberly,

My daughter is 21 m.o. and still waking up throughout the night. She's a terrible sleeper, so I'm not much help there. Though, her request for milk is purely comfort related. We're working on the "lovey" a blanket/stuffed animal to replace the milk.
Several girlfriends have given water in the bottle after a few nights their little ones decided it really wasn't worth waking up for anymore. Finding it was just pure habit to continue waking up for that bottle.

my son is just a little over 2 and he still wakes up through the night. I am 35 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child so it would be nice if he would sleep through the night. but I was a single mom when I had him and he slept with me for the first 10 months of his life and then after that he still got into bed with me in the middle of the night. and then he just started sleeping with me full time again but we are now living with my fiance and he has to sleep in his own bed through the night. But he wakes up every night just to get into bed with me. I have to go sit with him until he falls asleep in his own bed. and I still have to get him more milk in his cup at night. hes slowly getting better at sleeping all night. probably every couple of nights he'll sleep all night

Hi Kimberly,

I agree with Kyleen about giving a substantial snack. My son is two and has slept through the night for quite some time now.

He loves his glow worm and all his other stuffed animal: elmo, cookie monster, big bird, green bear etc . . .sometimes i will hear him wake up and hit the glow worm and fall right back to sleep. He also has Spike the warthog sitting at his feet to "make sure he's okay."

I wonder if she would respond better if she had some "friends" for bedtime.

We also make sure to have some kind of white noise ie: humidifier, air conditioner, fan. If she wakes up and hears the same calming stuff that she heard the first time she fell asleep, she may just nod off into dreamland.

Hope these thoughts help!
