My son is 3/12, showing some interest in going on the potty, but not as often as I would hope by now! I do not want to force the issue, wondering if other moms have experienced this? I would appreciate insight... |

I would say offer the potty regularly, make a sticker chart, but I dont think its a big deal. Especialy with boys, they take longer, and most boys bladders arent even fully developed untill the age of 3. Have 1 time a day, like right in the morning, or right before bed, when he NEEDS to try, and see if he gets interested on his own later, or keep adding more times when he needs to try about every 3 days or so. |

Thanks for the advice! I do agree that a sticker chart is a great tool-I will try this and see what happens! |

our son was 3 1/2 when he came home. he potty trained in just a few days. partly because the dog gets poop treats (when she goes, she gets a treat) and HE wanted poop treats (so we used candy) and partly because he was READY and partly because i taped matchbox cars to the mirror and told him that if he kept his underwear dry all day he'd get one at bedtime. i'd ask him in the morning which one he wanted and he was hysterical --- some days he'd say "i dont' want one" and he'd pee his pants, but other days he picked it out and there it was! after 7 cars, he was dry all the time. |

I used the sticker chart w/ my son it really got him interested in it, but what really helped was being around his friends who were already potty trained, he figured if they did it he could too. |
