bottle weaning and potty training
i want to know when I should wean my daughter from her bottle. I'm sure I probably shouldve done it by now. Oh by the way she's 13 months old. Then I would like to know when is a good age to potty train. We would like to have another baby but I would like to wait until she's out of diapers first.

we were just at our peds office for my daughters one yr check up and the nurse said to get rid of the bottle by/ around 15 months. You could put a little potty in the bathroom that way she can get used to seeing it and explore it and maybe even sit on it occasionally, then take it from there. Just don't force it or she can "rebel" against going on it. Like the old saying goes you can drag a horse to water but you can't make him drink!

What I did to get Jocelyn off the bottle was about a week before I would switch her night time bottle with a sippy cup. It took a couple of nights for her to get used to it. Then on her first birthday we said good bye to the bottles together and we packed them away. I let her know she was a 'big girl' now!!! Never asked for it again. As for potty training, I tried at 18 months because she would always tell me when she had to go. It lasted about two weeks and then just backfired. She wasn't ready yet. She's 20 months now and we will try again soon, but they have to be ready or it will not work.
Good Luck!!
