Hello Group..I am an Executive Decorating Consultant for Home Interiors and Gifts. After a very sucessful Christmas season, our business slows down until spring. Every business has a slow period and I am curious as to what you do to keep yourself motivated and pumped...Is is meetings?, is it mailings? ,going through your contact list?. I have tried several things but I will wait to hear some of your solutions and ideas. I will share as well..Regina |

Hi Regina...I work with a company that doesn't really have a slow season since we shop for consumable products people need all the time...but there are hills and valleys at certain times of the year. I try to keep up the momentum by reaching out to new people about what I do, people from my contact list that perhaps I have yet to share about what I do! Or, I get out and make new friends and contacts at the park, library, beach, etc. I am also going to start cold calling businesses, too. I used to do this back in my early days of Advertising Sales, and people are usually friendly to talk to. Another thing we can do in our business is buy leads. I don't really like to pay for leads, but sometimes we have to have more people to talk to! Walking and talking works great, though. Get out and make new friends! Thanks Regina for asking!!! :)

Regina, First of all, I have to say that I have the utmost respect for the company that you represent! The founders of our company (Premier Designs jewelry) worked for the founder of Home Interiors and have WONDERFUL things to say about her. They were good friends and she really helped them out by showing them what a good company is based upon and then supporting them when they left to start their own company! Kudos to your company!
We have several of GREAT ideas for slow seasons. Feel free to e-mail me at stunningjewelry@yahoo.com and I will forward them on to you! There are "tricks of the trade" to keep your business steady, even during the "slow" seasons! |

Hi All...First I'd like to say with Home Interiors we sell many different kind of merchadise.I am a creative person so it offers me a lot to work with. I make candle baskets with our candles...I use these baskets along with my party prize card for drawings in our slow seasons for contacts. I placed one basket in my nail salon, did a drawing and got 23 new contacts around Mom's day last year. I recently did my first online party and did $2000.00 in retail last month (45% of which was comission). At Christmas I used our Christmas decorations and made wreaths and sold them for $50.00 a piece. I also made Christmas Baskets with our candles and sold them for $40.00 a piece,( I made $800.00) to the salespeope in a car dealership...Home Interiors sells a great floral line.We have been trained to make floral arrangements as well as sell framed art for art parties and do all areas of home decor. Theres a lot to do during slow periods if you want to step it up....What do you do in your business during slow time....Regina |
