Cass County Mothers & More
Public group from Raymore, MO

Seems like there are several groups in Cass County
Do we need to work on uniting them or are they big enough to sustain themselves? Just wondering.

Krissy - Christian stay-home Mom of three from newborn to six years. Belton, MO.

Krissy,
I know of three groups for mothers in Cass County. As we are the newest one, I looked into all of the groups that I knew of before making the decision to start, yet another group for moms, so I see where you are coming from. I am not going to say anything bad about any other groups, but I didn't feel that they met my needs, so I started Cass County Mothers & More in October 2007 and so far it is turning out to be a such a success! I have enjoyed the women in this group greatly!! I always have a great time at our mom & tot outings and even more fun when we have our meetings or Mom's Night Outs, just spending time with other women (without kids).
Each of the groups has things that make it different from the rest. Cass County Mothers & More, we have meetings twice a month in the evenings without children. Mothers & More is a national organization and one of the specific goals of our group, nationally, is to focus on women as women and not only as mothers. I think that is one of the most important things that makes us stand out from other groups. While we do have many activities for moms and children and even the whole family, a Mothers & More chapter has to have at least one activity each month for only Mothers (with the exception of babies 6 months or younger).
This could be an interesting conversation! Would any of our other members like to share what you think makes Cass Coutny Mothers & More stand out from other groups for mothers in Cass County? What do you think is so great about our group?

Hey guys. So my name is on the list twice b/c i have 2 accounts and can't log into the first one. Sonja can you remove me from the group, the old ID one anyway?

Krissy that is a good question, however I agree with Sonja. I'm a member of several mom's groups and each are unique in their own way which I think is wonderful. I have really loved being a part of Cass County Mothers & More. The women in our group are wonderful mothers and women and I've learned so much about myself and this whole mothering job in general! I enjoy the mixture of mom & tot outings and mom's only meetings and night outs. I love to be able to do stuff during the day with my son, but it's WONDERFUL to have real adult conversations with other women too!

It is nice to be a part of a national group like Mothers & More for the resources, support, and everything it has to offer. I really like all of the e-mail groups Mothers and More offers to its members as well. I'm so glad there are so many mom's groups out there as it's been so important to me! That's just my 2 cents! You all have a great day!

Hi, I have only been in this group for a few months. I love it. The moms are great and very welcoming. The outings are planned with everyone in mind. I tried to get in another group in cass county and recived one response then nothing after that.

Krissy, what a great question. I think that it's so important for moms to support one another. I think that all different groups have great things to offer moms. I love that Mothers and More has a perfect mix of mom and tot activities AND mom only activities, and that occasionally, my husband can tag along too!! That really met our family's needs. I like to get out of the house and GO DO THINGS with my kids during the week, and I love getting out without my kids. It gives me a chance to make great friends, and not just as moms or as women, but as BOTH, which is what we really are, isn't it?? I love the relaxed nature of the group, and the fact that I don't feel pressured to join or not join anything - I know they are there for me when I need them, no matter what!!! Hope that helps!!!

I guess I can understand why there are several here in Cass Co... I mean, just look at how many schools that Belton alone has. They have their elementaries, a 5&6th grade building, a junior high for 7-8, a whole building dedicated to freshmen and they are talking about making a sophmore center too, then the highschool... must be a lot of kids in the area.

I can also understand wanting to find a group that "fits" you. I mean, if you are an older mom, you might feel out of place with younger moms. If you have a bunch of kids, you might feel out of place if all the other moms have only one or two to focus on, there's also differences economically and religiously between people too.

It's great to see so many people posting here and taking an interest in a new member. Thanks and I hope to meet you all soon.
