Work at Home Moms
Public online group

Hello Jessica and Hanna
Thank you for joining the group. I realize going through raisingthem that a lot of Mom are WAHM and I am sure we can give each other tips on how to manage the time. When do you do most of your non-mom work? Did you feel more efficient when you were working outside the house?

I have a huge business and 3 small children so I do have to be very time efficient!! I work during my kids naps 1-3 then when they go to sleep 7-10 Monday-Friday.
I feel SOOOOO much more efficient now that I am home, I can clean the house up while I am working or on calls, I can do many things while I am working because I mostly work on the phone, so I can multi-task. And now that I make more than my husband he has really started pitching in to help me around the house, he now does all the laundry, cleans the kitchen etc.
I also HAVE to work by a dayplanner, if I didn't I would be so lost! And I also work by appt. only so I know when we can run around and go places and when we need to stay home.
:)
It can be done!!

What happen if one of the kid decide not to nap? I remember I could make my social call with my kids around but never a professional one because they made sure they were heard!

They don't have a choice!!! :) If by chance one of them really doesn't want to take a nap they at least have to have 2 hours of quiet time. But so far in 3 1/2 years they all at least take a nap or have quiet time. And yes, plan your professional calls ONLY during sleep or quiet time. Make sure to tell your kids they ones who can understand you, why you need to be on the phone, reward them for taking naps. We have a marble jar every time the older ones take a full nap without getting out of their beds they get a marble, with the jar is full, we go to the zoo or movie's or something like that! :) It's so fun!
