hi i am a 49 yr old single mom of #6 (she is 11 and my olders are all grown and life afar)

while i am fortunate to be a stay at home mom (and yes we do make sacrifices) i love it and am there for her always. though i am involved in many aspects of her life crafting and sewing are dear to my heart..not one of her highlighst even though i continie on to find her niche..beads (well why the idea is there i am not sure it has clicked yet) she is more of a reader and play outside kind of little girl and loves the idea of saving the world...YAH FOR HER!! eco smart...go green kind...so we compromise often but, still nothing has clicked in for her yet...

i can so anything and everything,,crafts are just as wonderful..now i have ventured into an area that i am clueless..KNITTING...try as i am nothing!! i do much better when shown hands on than reading the words on a page..usually directions are great but, it just does not connect for me.

i have been to the library , on different sites to the art store and it all seems like foreign launguage....can someone enlighten me (i have some of the most beautiful yarn ever) but, my daughter just loves to unroll it and tie herself up in it and run it around the lawn chairs so now i have drawn the line and given her the less quality ones that i just picked up at a yard sale and she is free to tie all my lawn furniture up that she likes as long as i dont find any of her little neighbor friends tied up in there with it!! LOL

can anyone help me out??? thanks a zillion

Welcome to the sight. The first thing that I would do is try and find some one in a church group like the quilting ppl and see if they couldnt teach you how to start off.I also saw alot of books at Joanns Fabric store on knitting. They had all kinds of starter books.I honestly cannot knit.I do not have the patience lol!I never could crochet either. My mom tried and tried to teach me.Hope this helps.
