My son has been in a Montessori classroom since he was three because I liked the idea of him being able to move about. His school had a problem and I pulled him out. He is now in 2nd grade in a "very good" public school. It is such a challenge for him and he is getting into trouble for not being able to calm down, stop talking, ect. They said that he is ADHD but I beg to differ. He and I are so sensitive to drugs we can only use Homeopathic remedies for healing. Drugs are not an option and his school is not happy about it. So I could begin homeschooling him soon. When he was born the midwife said "he is an Indigo for sure". I researched this and from what I found he didn't fall into this category, no blue eyes. I knew he demanded all of my energy and I spent the next three years exhausted and begging my husband to have a vasectomy! I couldn't keep up! I still can't. I have started reading "Anger and the Indigo Child." It is so right on!!!!! He is hear to help me and those around us. I have seen a mention of a diet they could follow. He is so sensitive and I can see how this fits in. Can you give me more info?

Hi Kristie,
My son is 3 years 6 months old now. And he is allergic to antibiotics and strong medicine. So far me and my son has been into homeopathy treatment for 1 year now. My son was diagnosed to have ADHD when he's 2 years old. From that point I put him into a healthy diet. No casein, no gluten, no MSG, no preservative food, and no sugar ( very2 low sugar intake ). Beside that, I had taken hair analysis test and blood test, to know his alergic, toxin level ( ussually mercury, pb, cadmium, etc ). And he does have it. My doctor suggested me to put him into medication, but I refused it. Because frankly speaking, it doesn't answer the problem. His metabolism system is in imbalance, coming from all those toxin, ruin his diggestion system so that all food can not being transform and absorb properly. Then it spread throgh his blood, and into his brain, giving wrong message and signal. In my opinion, how come risperdal, ritalin, and those medication answer the question, where in the other hands the imbalance system and toxin still there ? My homeopathy then giving my son detoxcification program to lower all those toxin, and curing the imbalance. Why I have not choose a modern medicine instead, the reason is how come we fight chemical by pouring more chemical into my son body and system ? Beside that, healthy diet is helping a lot. Like I said before, no sugar, no msg, no preservative, no casein ( or less ), no gluten ( or less ). It works. My son no longer speech delay, able to finish his task ( he is playing computers right now, with games and ms office ), and more easier to be talk with. Still hyperactive, but easy to tend. And I had check wether my son is indigo or not with photographic aura, the aswer is yes. And he has this mark in his thumb, my physiciatris (shrink) aproved it, as one of the sign of indigo children. There is a book with title HOW TO RAISE INDIGO CHILDREN. It is a good book. Trust your instic as a mum. Happy try.

Hi, Well, i know for me i can not have processed foods at all. It's like a poison to me, and there is a really good site my mom found the info on right here : http://www.starchild.co.za/Info.html
FOOD ALLERGIES The Physical body of the Indigo/Crystal child is also very sensitive. They often cannot tolerate processed food and food additives. They also respond badly to sugar and caffeine. This means that sweets, artificially coloured drinks, biscuits, pies, hamburgers and choclates will create dysfunctional and hyperactive behaviour in the child. Feeding and Indigo or Crystal Child a chocolate and a coca-cola is literally the equivalent of giving the child a drug. Its system will respond by becoming overactive - producing hyperactive behaviour followed by a "crash" or tantrum when the effecst wear off and the child comes "down" and suffers sugar and caffeine withdrawal symptoms.
This can also mean that a "normal" diet will not be tolerated by many Indigos. Chicken and meat are filled with hormones, anti-biotics and chemicals, and most tinned or processed foods that are bought in supermarkets also contain chemicals that may not be tolerated. In addition, the child may be wheat and diary intolerant, producing symptoms such as eczema, digestive problems and sinus and ear/nose and throat disorders.
since reading this i havent eaten any prossesed foods, my caffeine intake is minimal and so is my sugar.
I must say i feel so much better. my behavior has improved my moods are more tolerable and i have calmed down alot more
but i am fourteen going on 15 years old, and your son is three so i dont know how we could compare |

I dislike how schools and doctors are quick to say a child needs a drug to correct their "condition". I agree with Homeopathic remedies.
Yes, natural foods and organic foods are ideal. When you improve the quallity of food you serve, you'll notice his body will react. After a while he'll crave things like fruits and veggies. The body always knows what it needs. An Indigo can surely hear what the body really wants. It's the teaching him to listen to it is the hard part.
My advice is to ask him what he wants to eat. Example: If he wants cake, it means his body is craving a high concentrate of sugar which can be found in many fruits such as bananas, strawberries, etc. If he wants chocolate, it means his body needs energy which can be found proteins and veggies.
Basicly, become familiar with the nutritional properties in fruit, vegetables and meats by whatever means you have available. Then simply replace what he wants with the healthier alternatives.
If he refuses to go with the alternatives, show him what you've learned about food. Have him help you search for good foods. You never know, he may find something you never saw.

Hi Kristie, I am fairly new to this Indigo thing-I have, however, been very aware of "diets" - I have had my family on the Feingold Diet - eliminating basically artificial colors and preservatives - look it up online if you wish - I can feed my son Kraft mac and cheese (yellow food dye and other things)and he is the rudest, non compliant, hyperactive kid I have ever seen but I can turn around and feed him Lipton mac and cheese (no artificial dye) and he is truly a blessing - it is a lot of work trying to figure out triggers but my life was truly changed once I got all of that garbage out of his system. I now have a daughter -she is 5 and I think and Indigo - I have had her on the diet as well - I certainly notice a difference when she has the artificial stuff but there is something else going on with her and I think it is just that she is Indigo - I will keep reading and watching. I will keep you in our thoughts. Hang in there. Charity Bowers |

Syanaz, What is this mark on your child's thumb? Like a birthmark or freckle, or part of the thumbprint? How neat to hear that the psychiatrist knew what it was! :-) Amy F. |

There is a book by Doreen Virtue called The Care And Feeding of Indigo Children. I just got it in the mail myself and haven't had time to read it yet so can't comment but Doreen is one of the leading experts when it comes to Indigos and Crystals! |
