Hi Laura! I had my son in July of 2007, at the ripe young age of 35 1/2!! I had absolutely no difficulties with my pregnancy- I loved it!! Actually, my husband reminds me that I had trouble getting comfortable sleeping, but I think every pregnant woman goes throught that! I visited an OB/GYN practice that offered midwives- so I didnt see the doctor until the big day!
(I did have to end up having a C-Section, due to a drop in my son's heart rate.)

Hi, Laura,
I had my first when I was 34 and am due this month with my second (will be 36 in July). This pregnancy was even easier than the first. (And people always think I'm younger--I think especially since I'm a "new" mommy!)
If your body is able to get pregnant (and to sustain a pregnancy), then it can handle the birthing process, I think. There's a great section on 35+ pregnancies in *What to Expect When You're Expecting* that is *really* reassuring to anyone ttc over 35.
Good luck with #2!!

Hi Girls
Great to both of you. I loved being prego as well and look forward to it again. I did have nausea though for the first trimester only dont look forward to that but it is all worth it.
Did anyone suffer from nausea and have any hints.

Hints for nausea:
Ask your doctor/midwife about different types of prenatal vitamins--some seem to be easier on your tummy than others. Also, taking your vitamin at night instead of earlier in the day can help. The other big thing is to eat a bunch of small "meals" throughout the day, rather than two or three bigger ones. I always kept saltines on standby, and that always helped to take an edge off the nausea.
My midwife even told me in the beginning to just eat what sounded good and not to worry too much about healthiness--once you get through the nausea stage (which we hope is short!), you can try to diversify more. (That made me feel less guilty if all that sounded good was fried chicken and mashed potatoes!)
And who knows? You might be surprised by an easy pregnancy! Let's hope!
