Confession for this morning...
I was so tired, when I heard my 8 month old daughter waking up (babbling), I just turned the monitor off!!! I figured that if she really screamed, I would hear it through the walls since she is in the next room over...I felt so guilty, I didn't get any more sleep and ended up waking up anyway.

I did that too!!! OK well she is in our bed but I just kept my eyes closed.
Usually I sneak out of bed first and let her stay with Daddy so I can make coffee and have a few minutes to myself. My hubby is not a morning person and hates it when I wake him up, but if he wakes up to her babbling and since as soon as she sees him she smiles and babbles at him, he can't help but be happy specially now that part of her babbling sounds like dada....
So I cheat in the mornings to get my hubby out of bed early so he can sit with me and have coffee.
But like you said sometimes if she is just talking away in her crib I just let her be I know she will let me know when she is fed up.

I have done something like that too! I was just so tired one morning that I could not seem to get energy to wake up. I tried putting her in bed with me because normally she will fall back asleep and she did for a little while but I was still exhausted so I set her on the other side of the bed and tried to get more sleep. She talked away for about 10 minutes and then decided to come play with me. Oh well, I agree that once you see their smiling face you can't help but be in a good mood!!!

Fantastic!
I am not alone :) There are times when that just has to happen. I wonder what our moms did? I bet they did the same, and we've come out alright (for the most part).

Oh, I'm glad I'm not alone! I feel even worse though, because she wakes us up at 8:30 or 9 on most days....anything before 8 seems early to me! It's not like it was a 6am waking or something...

You moms are SO cute! I'm an older mom of 55. I raised 6 kids. I did this with every one of them.
Guess that makes us all normal?

I just read an online article in the Daily Babble from a woman who's daughter watches six hours of TV a day. This should make us all feel better ;)

Article is called "Screen Queen"

My babies have always slept in same room.I cant turn a monitor off.I turn my TV on as soon as we get out of bed and if Lexi wants to watch it;its there.Shes into her ABC's and 123's video mostly. My TV doesnt go off til 10:15 at night.

I have BabyFirst TV on DirectTV and sometimes plop her in front of that while I'm doing housework or cooking. Usually while I'm cooking I leave her in her high chair so she can watch and I can talk to her...but she's starting not to like being in there...too confining I think. Once we set the play pen back up, she will just be in there with toys while I'm working...

I never get my kids up before 7 even when I hear them. I like to think of it a training them to sleep later...
