Spring crafts for all ages
Does anyone have any spring time crafts (for either childrfen or adults) that they would like to share?

I made these with my daughter's playgroup last week and the kids and Mommies all loved them. It did take parent involvement though. I stapled the first ring of handprints to the plate and let the kids glue the rest. I also cut out a stem and stapled it on and let the kids glue on a couple leaves I had cut out. This is not a hard craft. We did it in the park.

As a part of this meet up we also read the book "A Seed Grows" and planted seeds in a cheap plastic planter that the kids had decorated with peel and stick foam shapes of flowers.

Spring is here...
Have fun,
Kate

Thanks Kyleen, I will check that one out. I have a lot of these kind of sites book marked. I was a preschool teacher long ago... before I was a Mom. Now all my lessons I plan are for my daughter's playgroup and they LOVE it!!!

LOL Kate, it was the same with me. I taught Pre-K for three years (well before children were even thought of) and I saved all of my lesson plans, from the ABC to songs to teach manners to community helpers and I love that I can now pull those out and adapt them to my child. It is a wonderful thing to be able to share this with my own son and his friends.

My husband thinks I am nuts for keeping all this stuff. I tell him that it is my resume.... I am sure some day I will have to get a job again! LOL

I have a craft that my boys made for their grandma. It is so easy that even a young child would love it.
You take construction paper of your childs choosing, let them trace their hand on it, cut it out, and tape the sides together to form a tube. Take each finger and fold down to look like petals on a flower. Take a green straw and stick it through the tube tape the bottom of the flower with green tape(floweral tape can be found at the $ store). Your "hand" made lillies are ready for a vase. A pop bottle with two layers of contact paper works great...Happy crafting..Rebee
