It's funny - I didn't start thinking about my son as a teen until he was 13 years old. My daughter, however, started in with the tweenage stuff about 8 years old and teenage stuff about age 11.5. Not only are the genders different in their rates of development, but my son has always wanted to be a Momma's boy, and my daughter has always wanted to grow up too fast.

My kids are the same way! My boys are mama's boys and my daughter is ready to move out and be on her own...........they are so different!

Angie,Raising teens can be tough and rewarding. I once had three teen all girls in the home at one time what a nightmare. But we survive and now we only have one because the other two have growing up and out on there own starting family of there own. But this summer we will have a three teen girl in the home again one is a 17 year old that we are taking in to help her grandfather out the other one is my daughter that live with her daddy during the school year and stay with me during the sumer and hollidays she just turn 13 and there is my daughter that live with me she turning 16 so this sumer going to be pretty interesting lol. Anyway before we know it there all growing up and out of the house like with my first two daughter which is 21 and 18 and my son that 20. They all grow up to fast, we also have a almost 4 year old in the home. Enjoy the tough time later it give you something to look back on and laugh about of course not all of the tough time you will be able to laugh about. Thank God for groups like this one that will help you keep you sanity. KST
