Hi, My name is Catherine and I have a 15month old. I am somewhat concerned about him. When ever he gets mad he start's hitting himself or the walls. When ever his not with his father he start's screaming da da da da to where he start's shaking and hitting something. |

My boy's went through a time like that too. Know that this is a phase. They don't know how to express themselves well at this age so they find other way's of doing it. The only thing I can suggest when this happens is try to distract him with something else. What I did was turn on some music picked them up and just start dancing with them. At first they might not stop but once I kept going they forgot they were even crying. I hope this helps in some way. |

Try using signs with him or pictures of things for him to point to. The more they can tell you the less frustrated they will be. My son started this also and we used sign language. |

I can relate to this as well...our youngest boy has done the same thing...and nothing was working...so I finally just took him to his room and said if you want to throw a tantrum...you can do it in your room...when you are finished you can come out...but you are not going to make everyone else suffer because you aren't getting what you want...it took about three times, of me staying consistent, and it has really gotten better...now I don't have to take him there...I just tell him to go and then come out when he is done...talking to him before he looses control helps as well...so they know what to expect when they get that way.
