Parents that choose to NOT vaccinate
Public online group

How do you Handle it?
I have a 7mo girl and she has not had any vaccinations. Of course I hear all the time from people how it is irresponsible not to vaccinate. How do you all handle the criticisms? Do you have doctors that support your decision not to vaccinate?
Thank you

My youngest has not been vaccinated and my ped respects my decision not to. I do occasionally get criticized for this, but I am always firm in my answer that I feel this is best for my daughter. I have a file of information about the vaccines, it includes the CDC’s recommended schedule, the ingredients, some book references and web sites. (I try not to keep it too big) I have also challenged some family to prove me wrong and they ended up changing their minds about vaccines once they went over the information on their own.

Hey ladies,

I am a physician and I have not and will not vaccinate my 8 month old son. My best advice to you is to join the group on this website called 'Stay At Home Moms' and look for the headings 'Varicella Vaccine' and 'Mercury in our babies vaccines'. You'll get a whole host of info on the pros and cons along with some good resourses/references. The more knowledge you have on the subject, the better equipped you will be when people confront you about your decision. Your always going to be asked why you don't vaccinate if the subject comes up. I had to take my little one to the ER one time and the doc asked me why my son wasn't vaccinated. My response was that I was a physican and have just chosen not to vaccinate at this time. I could go on and on about the subject, but if you could just join the Stay At Home Mom's site and look for the posts I mentioned earlier, you'll get a lot of good info. Hope this helps.
