I'm sorry that you're in this situation. It's tough. I would suggest you get word of mouth testimonials by other moms in the area if you can. Then maybe go visit some unannounced to see what a normal day would be like. I'd also make sure you have proof of background checks on their workers. good luck and stay faithful as a wife and mother...it's the highest calling you've been given! |

Check your state website, they should have all the licensed daycares in your area. That is how I found my daughters. Then I called a bunch of them and visited any I was interested in. It took a little work, but we are very happy with our choice. |

Visit the possible daycares during the day while things are moving as normal.
If you can find a personal reference, that would be the best.
Good luck! |

It is tough but not so bad. I am putting my son in daycare FT in 2 weeks He will be 4 months old. I have been taking him 1 day a week to get him and myself used to it. A lot of daycare centers now have cameras installed and you can log on at work and see your child playing, being fed etc. It is a great ammenity and worth the extra $'s for the extra piece of mind. Not sure where you are located, but there is a chain here in NJ called Kiddie Academy that has these cameras in all their centers. When visiting the centers definitley pop by unannouced, they will almost always accomodate you with a tour. Take a good whiff and determine if it smells clean or like a dirty diaper, and look at how the kids are responding to caregivers. If at all possible and another parent is there picking up or dropping off ask them some questions in the parking lot. Good Luck |
