Hello, my daughter (14 months) was introduced to solids at 9 months and according to her babysitter (I work 30 hrs per wk) eats like a champion. The problem is when she is home with mommy and daddy she always spits out her food (mushy, mashed and solid). Once in awhile she will eat well. She just wants to breastfeed! She is a big girl, 25 pounds, and I feel like she should be eating a wider variety of foods. Any advice? |

My little guy was similar in that he wouldn't eat for me, but would eat pretty well if I wasn't around and he was with grandma or dad. Breastfeeding is so easy and comfortable, and maybe since you're away during the day it's an easy way to connect with you and get what she needs. |

I agree with Gia. Make sure her menu is varied during the day, then enjoy breastfeeding when she's with you..it's such a great way to bond, and she's getting great nutrition as well! :) |

Besides, nursins is easier. No mess, no prep, no clean up. I say think of it as her way of making life a little easier on Mom :)

My son is 8 1/2 months old and will not eat very well from me either. He eats like there's no tomorrow with his dad, but not from me. I agree with everyone else...your daughter would rather have your comfort along with the sweet tasting breast milk she's been used to since birth. Sometimes this issue drives me nuts, but I don't regret breastfeeding for one second. Hang in there and good luck!! |
