TOW: How do you empower your teenager?
How do you make them more thoughtful, responsible, empower?

Is this even possible? (Just kidding) My teen is becoming more responsible everyday. Now that he is working part time and about to get his license he has no choice. As for him being thoughtful, that depends on his mood.

We listen to what the kids have to say, we involve them in decisions when we can and in discussions about things.

Well let's see..to be more thoughtful I teach them to put themselves in someone elses shoes. As for responsibility they have their own and I have them accountable for their actions, and as for empowering them I try to remind them to be as positive as they can be about a situation(but also realistic) and give them advice if they need help. I try to guide them in the direction to help them solve their own problems, Im not always going to be there!

I think it has a lot to do with being a good role model. Show them that you are all of those things - and that that is the first step in a lifetime of happiness.
